Gore to endorse Obama

algore_obama_e It certainly took some time, but tonight Al Gore will endorse Obama in Flint, Michigan.

As many point out, this will not win Barack Obama an awful lot of new votes but it does get some hardcore Democratic activists and fundraisers on board.

I’m looking forward to seeing how Gore performs on the stump (assuming he’s going to campaign for Obama); while he was not an incredibly gifted speaker eight years ago, his style has matured significantly over the years, and would make for a commanding presence on the campaign trail.

Firefox 3 is out Tuesday

14russert_190 I have watched Meet The Press religiously for years now, like millions of others around the World. There was something infectious about Tim Russert’s demeanour, his passion and his persistence, that made it more than a Sunday talk show; it was a force deeply engrained in American politics, a force that could make or break titans. Meet The Press will go on, but it will never be the same without it’s longest serving moderator.

It his not enough to say he will be missed; politics will not be the same without him.

Half of Ireland is computer illiterate

Silicon Republic has an article about the widespread computer illiteracy among the older Irish generations.

Nearly half the country has virtually no computer skills whatsoever, citing every day examples of parents asking their offspring to conduct routine tasks on the Internet, such as booking flights and hotels and checking weather reports.
“The divide between technology savvy individuals and those in the other 50pc of the population is huge,” commented Liam McMahon, managing director, New Horizons Ireland. “The reasons are manifold as to why some people are being left out of the technology age; lack of education, lack of previous interest and lack of time are just a few.

More Firefox 3 Icons Arrive

Even more Firefox 3 icons have begun to creep into the latest Minefield nightly builds. So far most of the icons appear to be in the Windows XP style (Mozilla has contracted The Icon Factory to design three sets for XP, Vista and OSX).
